Welcome to my homepage!
I am a staff astronomer at the INAF Institute for Radioastronomy in Bologna (Italy).

In my research I use strong gravitational lensing and very long baseline interferometry (VLBI)
to study the physics of supermassive black holes at cosmological distances and learn about dark matter and dark energy. Publications can be browsed here.
I've been recently awarded a Starting Grant by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (Fondo Italiano per la Scienza) for the project DARKER, which aims at inferring the nature of dark energy and dark matter using gravitational lensing in the time domain.

I graduated at the University of Bologna in Astrophysics and Cosmology 2014, and obtained a PhD at the University of Groningen in 2019 under the supervision of Prof. McKean and Prof. Koopmans, with a thesis entitled "Gravitational lensing at milliarcsecond angular resolution." I was then post-doc at the University of Groningen/ASTRON, University of Bologna and INAF-IRA.

I've held positions also in the field of renewable energies (at LT Renewables, Terna Group), co-founded INAF-GREEN and contributed to the establishment of Officina Ricerca Ambiente (Bologna CNR area). I advocate for cross-disciplinary research, a sustainable and fair development of astrophysics.
